welcome back to the Skaject folks! our album this week is Tokyo Strut, from Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra –
i think Tokyo Strut was one of the TSPO albums that i wasnt super fond of in the original skaject, and unfortunately i think that feeling is repeated now, a few years removed from those listens.
to be abundantly clear – this aint a bad album. the opener, Starlight Express, is a fun jaunt for sure. Skoal, Route 135, and Swing Man are very good instrumental tracks. but i think the rest are just solid, and dont quite nab me in the same way, especially in the back half. if youre a diehard TSPO fan, im sure youll get more out of it than me.
